Reclaim your data privacy. Call, text & browse securely. With BOB, regain control & own your data.
The growing concerns around data privacy, data scandals from several tech companies and the recent release of Netflix's The Great Hack documentary have reminded us that no matter how secure or reputable a platform is, it's never foolproof unless there's a solution that works without a centralized service provider so that only you as the user has the access and permission to your data.
With BOB, no one can block, monitor or spy on your calls, messages or data.
So you can fully decide how your data is used and ultimately be aware of who, what, when and where your data has gone to.
f(x) OS = Own Your Data
Powered by the revolutionary Function X (FX) blockchain protocol, BOB's f(x) OS allows you to tap into the Function X ecosystem that is built entirely on the blockchain. You can call, text or browse without a centralized service provider. This enables you to reclaim ownership of your data, and keep it encrypted and secure.
Blockchain & Android Modes
The f(x) OS has a unique dual-mode feature which allows you to switch seamlessly between Blockchain and Traditional Android mode.
The FX OS is built based off the Android 9.0. So its Android component enables you to access your favorite Android apps instantly. Or you can swipe to the Blockchain mode which allows you to control your data, and keep it encrypted and secure.
MOD Your BOB
Every BOB order will come in a MOD Assembly Kit containing the core components like: The motherboard, display screen, camera, audio speaker parts, buttons and aesthetic accessory enhancements to personalize the look and feel. The kit is designed to be easy to assemble along with a detailed instructional guide. For the more hands-on creators, you will have the option to 3D print additional phone parts to add to your BOB. See here for recent coverage from CES 2020 by Input Mag on the modular aspect of BOB.

BOB has been recognized as a CES 2020 Innovation Award Honoree in the "Mobile Devices & Accessories" category for its impressive design and capability. See here for details.
Team Pundi X
It's been quite a journey ever since the first BOB prototype (previously known as XPhone) made its first appearance in the XBlockchain Bali event back in October 2018 and was showcased at the CES event in Las Vegas at January 2019 as reported by PC Mag. We also brought BOB to MWC 2019 at Barcelona. We had the honour of making Africa's first blockchain call in Rwanda too.
Most recently, Pitt Huang, CTO & Co-Founder was featured on YourStory talking about his motivations and vision behind creating BOB.

What you see right now in the current form and design of BOB is the culmination of all the work that has gone into ensuring we deliver a product that gives you a better option to control and own your data and one that's not constrained to how a traditional phone looks like.
One Phone. Different Forms
The retro-futuristic sci-fi design seen here in BOB is inspired from the sci-fi films and comics from the 80s and 90s. We take the classic retro-ness design which you love and combine it with the avant-garde future tech to create a phone that is familiar, cutting edge and uniquely yours at the same time.
But we are not stopping with one design. In the near future, we will also be inviting creators and designers to submit their own BOB designs. The plan is to select 5 to 10 top designs and produce them alongside the current design.
And once BOB is released and shipped, all of its hardware design rendering files will be made available for more hands-on users to be able to download, modify and 3D print the parts to make their own BOB modifications. We hope to see a thriving community where BOB MOD enthusiasts will create new parts to exchange and trade their design creations.
Making a Blockchain Call
When a call happens during the blockchain mode, the call is routed through the nodes instead of a centralized service provider (like a telco or centralized server). The benefit of a blockchain call means that there wouldn't be any company or individual being able to monitor, block or spy on your call. And that applies to sending a text messages, browsing the blockchain internet or using any of decentralized app (DApp) services.
